Johannes Brahms Serenade No. 2 30'
Tickets £18, £15 (under 25s)
Mellow violas and cellos interweave with exquisite woodwind lines in Brahms Serenade No. 2, an early 'practice-run' at symphonic composition that omits violins in search of a warm, intimate sound. Caroline Shaw's equally comforting and the swallow, arranged for orchestral winds by Danielle Fisher, introduces soloist Nadia Verlinsky in the world premiere of Nicholas Gawley's Flute Concerto. Conducted by Rob Jones.
